Will Yackulic uses a typewriter, gouache, watercolor and india ink to create what he calls "outposts" or dark geodesic dome-like spheres floating in a soft wash of detail and resembling the landscape of a lone planet in a distant galaxy. While these outposts are lent a cerebral quality by the intensity of contrast and precision in them, they also maintain balance by exuding a deep quiet and organic elegance.
